This is a great post. I'd like to add a key point. Some of the registered voters who read this or who summarize its comments can repeat the meme that the only votes that matter are in battleground states. To give credit where it's due, you delve into state elections and how they impact gerrymanders. But it's important to get out every vote for Democrats, everywhere. We choose our school board members who decide whether or not to censor books. The same goes for city and county commissions. Port commissioners have a say about allowing new fossil fuel terminals. We elect judges, local representatives and senators, governors, and importantly, members of congress, etc. So to save democracy, let's vote blue up and down the ballot whether or not we live in swing states.

Great post. I’d also like to add that republicans win when voters stay home. Urge everyone to vote.

Mike, any thoughts on the Nebraska Senate race? Guy named Osborn running against Deb Fischer—he’s an independent, union organizer, worked for Kelloggs, veteran…Mike Lux has been quite keen on his chances.

I am more optimistic about North Carolina for Biden, Mike. My somewhat granular assessment is that a number of things are working in our favor. And in my view actually more likely to win than GA. All in all argues for the most attention to PA though, which is our highest priority.

I agree. I’ve been involved in some fundraisers for NC recently and watching the work Anderson Clayton and the chair of the Mecklenberg County Dems are doing I am VERY optimistic. Let’s just say they did not come to play.
