Your essay is excellent! Informative as heck and painfully disturbing. I know you are 100% correct in everything you say. I am having trouble seeing a way to get our media back from the right wing extremist oligarchs who own 39% of the media x 2 and are trying to grab more. Damn the democrats who went along with all this deregulation and sucking up to lobbyists. Clinton has turned out to be worse and worse as the truth is revealed. We know the republicans hate human beings, and now we can’t trust the democrats. We must take back our right to regulate the public airwaves.

Yes. I'm 75 year old lifelong Democrat who has been happy about voting for Democrats a tiny fraction of the time. My current NY rep was endorsed by the working families party, but he voted for both the Laken Riley act and the crypto bill. So he's not getting my small political contribution again, but he won't care.

Excellent information. It explained a lot and makes me feel less guilty about my application for Irish citizenship by ancestry.

Just an outstanding commentary here. As an employee in periodical publishing for almost 20 years, I appreciate Podhorzer's revelations about concealed bias. That is, before a paper goes to press or a broadcast goes on air, bias has already been exerted: coverage or no coverage, above the fold (Block 1) or on page six (after two commercial breaks). Readers/viewers never know that critical choices have been made long before a paper is composed or a broadcast is scripted.
