I am a new follower here and I’m very interested in the issue of what policies and candidates will attract swing voters. I understood the data to show that the swing voters are people who dislike both parties. I understand the importance of not bringing your biases a priori Into interpretation of data. I am a scientist in the biomedical space. However, I did not understand the logical leap to the conclusion that swing voters do not prefer moderate policies and candidates. Isn’t the conclusion from the data that we don’t know what the swing voters want to see? Could you expand upon that point and help explain to me why you think this group of swing voters do not want a moderate candidate.
