I read every word, including the footnotes. Deeply deeply fascinating. Engrossing really. Honestly much appreciated. I wish the 26th amendment had also abolished the electoral college, ugh. The last 25 years would have been so different and that’s honestly quite frightening. Hopefully the compact can kick in sooner than later. We soldier on nonetheless in the meantime because we must. Thank thank.
For the compact to kick in it would have to be passed by deep red legislatures and signed by deep red governors. No Republican governor has ever signed a state bill joining the compact.
As always the best analysis I've read. Most of what is passed off as analysis is just regurgitation of polling results. You are almost alone in providing an analysis of what the numbers may — and may not — mean. I look forward to the time I have to spend really working through your thinking and your supporting data. Thank you, Michael!!
I'm in shock about the election result. It's not final, but it's being reported that Trump will win popular vote. I found your argument very convincing, so interested in your reflection on this.
“The turnout explosion”: Another interesting chart that would seem to support my long held view that the Watergate scandal/Vietnam withdrawal was a multi-generational, semi-permanent trauma for the electorate.

That will need to change, yeah.

UGGGH.
Best regards,

Compelling reading, although it reinforces my dire outlook.
It doesn't have to end that way
